Chinese men break Guinness World Record for cold endurance

For some of us, Shanghai?s barely freezing temperatures are challenge enough. For Chen Kecai and Jin Songhao, Shanghai?s trials would seem like child?s play. Both men recently competed in a "frozen alive" competition at Tianmenshan in Zhangjiajie city, Hunan Province.

The ice endurance test is exactly what it sounds like: Jin and Chen were put in booths packed with ice wearing nothing but swim suits in the hope of breaking the world record.

Jin lasted for 120 minutes while Chen stayed in for 118 minutes, both beating the previous Guinness World Record of standing in ice set at 115 minutes by the Dutch "Iceman," Win Hof.
